This FAQ section is designed to provide quick answers to common questions about our treehouses. This includes information on availability, amenities, booking, etc.

What activities are available in the area?

To protect the privacy of our guests, only registered guests are permitted to visit the property.

Can I visit the treehouse community without being a guest?

Absolutely! Our treehouses are designed for all ages!

Are children allowed?

( No emotional support animals are permitted. No exceptions)

Are pets allowed?

No, you do not need to bring either. We provide clean linens including all the bedding, bath towels, wash clothes and hand towels.

Do I need to bring linens or bath towels?

The DayDreamer is our only ADA complaint and wheelchair-accessible treehouse.

Is the treehouse wheelchair accessible?

The treehouses have a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, refrigerator and two burner hot plates. The DayDreamer has a larger refrigerator and 3 burner range in place of the hot plates. There are many restaurants within 10-15 drive but not on the property.

Is there dining on the property?

Is the treehouse open year around?

Yes, each of the treehouses has mini-split units that provide both heating and air conditioning.

Is the treehouse heated?

Firewood is available to purchase at the treehouses for $6.00 per bundle (cash only) or at several locations near Deep Creek Lake and McHenry, MD. Please do not gather wood from the property or fort area to burn. We also suggest that you bring fire starters.

Is Firewood Available?

Yes, each treehouse has a shower, toilet, and sink. The Gathering Tree even has a bathtub, perfect for scrubbing down those little ones after a day of playing in the forest.

Does the treehouse have a bathroom?

Yes, the treehouses do sway slightly when the wind is blowing hard! No need to worry, as they were built and engineered for it.

Does the treehouses sway in the wind?

Afternoon rentals are not available; the minimum stay in the treehouses is 2 nights. A single-night stay is permitted when only one night is available between reservations.

Can I rent the treehouse for an afternoon or for one day? 

Only registered guests are permitted on the treehouse property. The maximum number of occupants for each treehouse (including children) is 5 people for The Eagles Nest and 6 people for The Gathering Tree and The DayDreamer.

Can I bring extra people?

Our property is intended for families and small groups. Many people visit our property to unwind; therefore, parties and loud music are not allowed.

Can a party be hosted at the treehouse?

Strict: Reservations canceled at least 30 days in advance will forfeit their deposit. Reservations canceled with less than 30 days notice are non-refundable.

What is the cancelation policy?

There is no smoking at all allowed in the treehouse or within 20 feet of the entrance as listed below. Any violations will be subject to a $250 fee and asked to leave the property. Burning of candles or incense is also prohibited and will result in a minimum additional cleaning charge of $75 to remove any odor or damage and to protect future guests from an allergic reaction.

Is smoking or burning of candles or incense allowed in the treehouse?

Check-in is anytime after 4:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Due to time required to thoroughly clean and prepare the treehouses for your stay, we are unable to accommodate check-ins prior to 4 pm

Can I check in before 4 pm?

Neither WiFi nor cable is provided or available at the treehouses. AT&T, T-mobile and Sprint have extremely good service in the area. Verizon service is limited. Please plan accordingly.

Does the treehouse have cable or wifi? Will my cell phone have signal?

Yes they are. You can purchase “paid in full” reservations or any amount you wish to give to be applied to a future reservation. Use the Gift Card tab to purchase.

Are gift certificates available?

They are located adjacent to the Savage River State Forest approximately 15 minutes from Deep Creek Lake. To protect the privacy of our guests, we don’t share the address. You will be given the address and directions after booking your reservation.

What is the address for the treehouses?

They are approximately 150 ft apart. Far enough apart to offer privacy but close enough to allow you to share and visit should a family or group of friends rent both treehouses.

How close are the treehouses to each other?

We don’t provide either as they attract animals over time. We don't allow portable grills of any type. You are welcome to bring a fire grate to cook with but please ensure you take them with you when you leave.

Is there a grill or fire grate?

Groups may rent multiple treehouses but all guests must be registered and the capacity of each treehouse may not be exceeded. Groups may gather at the firepits and on the property but you are not permitted to have more than the listed number of occupants in any unit at any time.
